Civilian among 7 killed in Khost, Logar incidents
PUL-I-ALAM/KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): A woman and three Taliban militants have been killed and three children wounded during a clash in central Logar province.
In a separate incident, three Taliban militants were killed and two others wounded in won bomb explosion in southern Khost province.
Mohammad Hanif Hanafi, the district chief of Sarkh district of Logar told Pajhwok Afghan News that Taliban insurgents militants stormed Afghan forces’ posts in Qala-I-Naw area on Saturday evening.
Three rebels were killed and several others wounded during the clashes, he said. Security forces suffered no causalities.
He said that a woman was killed and three children wounded when a mortar shell hit a civilian house in Bazaar area of the district. It is unclear which side fired the mortar.
Habibullah, a resident of the area, said one woman and two children were killed and another child wounded in the mortar attack.
Taliban did not comment on the incident yet.
But a Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid claimed killing three Afghan security forces in a roadside bomb blast in Atmor area in the capital of Logar late on Saturday.
Elsewhere, three militants were killed and two others wounded in own bomb explosion in Khost province.
Police Chief Brig. Gen. Faizullah Ghairat, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place in Mosakhilo district of Khost province on Saturday night.
The incident took place when the rebels were planting the bomb on Musakhel-Khost road, he said.
