Would-be suicide bomber detained in Jalalabad
KABUL (Pajhwok): A would-be suicide bomber belonging to the Islamic State (IS) , or Daesh militant group, has been detained in eastern Nangarhar province, the Afghan intelligence agency said on Sunday.
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Jamil Rahman, alias Yasir, planned to conduct a suicide attack in a crowded area of Jalalabad. However, the plot was foiled and the insurgent arrested.
It added the detainee had joined Daesh four months ago. He was involved in some attacks on security forces in Achin and Bala districts after getting training on suicide attacks.
The spy service claimed preventing multiple casualties with the arrest of the alleged militant. A strong hold of Daesh, Nangarhar has witnessed several offensives in recent years
