20 injured as suicide bomber hits mini bus in Kabul

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): At least 20 people were wounded in a suicide attack on a mini bus carrying Ministry of Mines workers in capital Kabul on Wednesday, the Ministry of Public Healthinfo-icon said.

The blast took place in the limits of 7th police district on Dar-ul-Aman Road in front of Kabul Dubai Wedding Hall around 5pm.

Ismail Kawosi, public relations officer at MoPH, said two womeninfo-icon were among the 20 wounded civilians.

Meanwhile, Sidiq Sidiqi, the Interior Ministry spokesman, said the attack targeted a mini-bus carrying employees of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.

Eyewitnesses told Pajhwok Afghan News the attack occurred in front of Kabul Dubai Wedding Hall and in the vicinity of the Habibia High School on Dar-ul-Aman road. The suicide bomber blew his explosives-laden rickshaw against the bus, they added.  

Ambulances rushed to the scene and evacuated the wounded to hospital and security forces cordoned off the area, not letting anyone use the road, the eyewitnesses added, saying the mini-bus was partially damaged.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
