11 insurgents join peace process in Badakhshan
FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Local officials on Tuesday said 11 Taliban militants had joined the peace process in northeastern Badakhshan province.
He said the militants had joined the peace process as a result of efforts by the police headquarters.The men also surrendered a rocket launcher and 10 Kalashnikovs.
A number of other militants would likely quit the insurgency in the near future, he hoped. Eighty-three rebels have joined the reconciliation drive in Badakhshan this year.
