The Afghan government has been requesting the Saudi government over the past several years to hold a conference of Islamic scholars to discuss the situation of Afghanistan.
The Saudi government agreed to the proposal during a formal trip to the kingdom by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah.
The conference is expected to be held in Jeddah city where religious scholars from several Islamic countries will participate in the near future.
