KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan outclassed Oman in the first semifinal of Desert T20 Challenge 2017 at Abu Dhabi on Friday, a spokesman for the board said.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News Oman, asked to bat first, posted a total of 149 runs in what looked an utterly one-sided affair.

For the national side, Fareed Ahmad captured three wickets, Rashid Khan 2, Amir Hamza and Samiullah Shinwari one each, the ACB official said.

Afghanistan raced to their fourth consecutive victory for the loss of only two wickets, with Mohammad Shahzad smashing 80 runs off 60 balls and Nawroz Mangal 34 off 30 balls.

Asghar Stanikzai remained unbeaten at 25 runs, as Afghanistan romped home in the 19th 3 over. Shahzad was adjudged the Man of the Match for his superb knock.

In the previous three matches, Afghanistan outplayed Ireland, the United Arab Emirates and Namibia.
