KABUL’s bowlers dismissed Zimbabwe for a mere 54 runs in 13.5 overs to win the fifth one-day international by 106 via Duckworth-Lewis in Harare on Sunday, securing a memorable series victory, 3-2.

After winning the toss, Afghanistan skipper Asghar Stanikzai elected to bat in the 50 over game, with his side amassing 253 for nine wickets.

Middle-order batsman Rahmat Shah was the top-scorer with 50 from 79 balls which included just one boundary before he was run out by Malcolm Waller at the Harare Sports

Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News that the national team played responsibly in the final game against the ICC full member cricketing nation.

Rahmat Shah made his 50 ad Mohammad Nabi fell just three runs short of his fifty and was dismissed by 47 run while Noor Ali Zadran made 46 runs, Shehzad 20 and Stanikzai, Samiullah Shinwari and Rashid Khan 18, 18 and 18 respectively. Dawlat Zadran contributed a quick-fired 14 runs.

After the Afghanistan innings, rain started and delayed the game for three hours and the hosts were set an adjusted target of 161 from 22 overs.
