SO conducts advocacy efforts to promote school certificate, Tazkira issuance

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Corruption in Afghanistaninfo-icon has been a widespread and growing problem, according to a recent Transparency International Report; Afghanistan is the eight most corrupt countries in the list of 176 countries ranked in the report 25 January 2017.

One of the reasons for continuing the war was corruption in government departments, which has created gaps and distance between people and government. Bureaucracy, low qualities of service delivery, old and complicated systems are the main challenges that the people are suffering from.

Twelve Grades certificate and Tazkira issuance process were the two hot problems in Afghanistan including Bamyan province that affect the people and hinder implementation of social development and Good governance.

To address the problems and simplify Tazkira and twelve grade certificate issuance procedures, Shuhada Organization (SO) proposed Advocacy efforts for promoting twelve grade certificate and Tazkira issuance in Bamyam province holding related target government officials accountable and transparent.

To achieve project goal one advocacy committee has been established by SO consisting of 14 members from civil societyinfo-icon organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Media, District Development Assemblies (DDA’S) Community Development Councils (CDC’s), Community elders, Youth and religious leaders to be involved in the project. They are in positions to influence decisions on matters that have an impact on government, advocacy committee has regular advocacy meeting with managers of twelve grade certificate and population Registration Departments (PRD) at provincial and districts levels of Bamyan province, those problems that are not solve able at provincial level mentioned committee will advocate with the line ministers in national level.

When SO started its activities found that the clients of Tazkira are faced with many problems in districts of Bamyan, they were complaining form lengthy process of receiving Tazkira and were waiting for two or three days to complete the process.
