A freight of food and non-food items dispatched by Qatar to support flood-affected people has arrived in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, an official said on Monday.
The Governor House of northern Balkh province has sent food and non-food items for the flood affected people of northern Baghlan province while tend erected in eastern Nangarhar province to collect much-needed assistance for the people affected by the natural disaster.
The European Union (EU), World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Organisation for Migration (IOM) have provided aid to flood-affected people in Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) has announced the possibility of relatively heavy rainfall with flash floods and rising water levels in some areas of the country's River Zones.
Besides the loss of precious lives, 4,000 houses and 10,000 livestock have been perished by a recent flash floods in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Sunday.
Some organizations and renowned celebrities have expressed solidarity with Afghanistan and announced emergency cash and life-saving assistance for the flood victims in parts of the country, particularly in Baghlan province.
At least 315 people have been killed, 1,630 others wounded and 2,600 homes destroyed by flash floods n northern Baghlan province, says the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR).
