KABUL, on Sunday.
Militants attacked a convoy of security personnel with an improvised explosive device and two rockets on the Ramak Road in Miranshah, the North Waziristan Agency headquarters.
A report on the Dawn newspaper’s website said the convoy came under attack on its way from Miranshah to Bannu district. After the IED blast, two rockets were also fired at the security forces’ vehicle, killing three soldiers and injuring another.
Elsewhere in the country, two activists of the Awami National Party (ANP) and one of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) were gunned down in the port city of Karachi.
Two assailants on a motorbike shot dead Mukhtar Rasool, Naveed Ahmed and Mohammad Sarfaraz near the Lasbella traffic intersection. One of the attackers reportedly pulled out a pistol and fired a number of shots at the them.
Alos in Karachi, three policemen were killed in a gun attack on their van in Patel Para area of Jamshed Town. A senior police officer confirmed the killings, saying an investigation had been launched.
