JALALABAD (PAN): Gunmen seized nearly a dozen workers of a mine-clearing firm in the Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province on Thursday, an official said.
CHAGHCHARAN (PAN): Eighteen militants, including Pakistani fighters, and a dozen pro-government militiamen were killed in the Pasaband district of Ghor province, an official said on Thursday.
CHARIKAR (PAN): One student was killed and three others were injured after a protest against the replacement of their school principal turned violent in the Bagram district of central Parwan province, officials said on Thursday.
MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Forty-eight prisoners were released on Thursday from a jail in northern Balkh province in compliance with a presidential decree issued on April 28, an official said.
