Commanders among six rebels killed in Kunar

ASADABAD (PAN): Two Taliban commanders were among six rebels killed during a ground and air offensive by foreign troops in eastern Kunar province, the Defense Minister said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the ministry said the two commanders were identified as Maulvi Maseehullah and Tawab who were killed along with four other militants in the offensive involving US Special Forces based in Bagram and International Assistance Security Forces in Sangar village of Wata Pur district.
A spokesman for the governor, Syed Fazlullah Wahidi, confirmed the operation. He said two Arab militants were among the slain Taliban. He added civilians suffered no casualties during the overnight operation.
