KABUL): Four insurgents were killed and five others arrested during joint operations in different provinces over the past 24 hours, defence and interior ministries said on Tuesday.
The operations were conducted by Afghan and NATO-led troops in Laghman, Khost, Paktia, Helmand and Maidan Wardak provinces, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.
A statement from MoI said three AK-47 assault rifles with five magazines and one anti-vehicle mine were seized during the operations.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a separate statement severn suicide vests, 15 anti-vehicle mines, three weapons and four hand grenades were seized in the Zheri district of Kandahar province.
Two Afghan National Army (ANA) were killed and nine others wounded following roadside bomb explosions in the Bakwa and Maiwand districts of Farah province.
