The death was announced in a brief statement from the NATO-led force that did not give the servicemember’s nationality.
Although the statement did not reveal the nationality of the soldier, most of the foreign troops deployed to the south are Americans.
With the latest fatality, the number of international soldiers killed in Afghanistan this year has risen to 95. Last year, 556 ISAF troops were killed in the country.
