HERAT CITY (PAN): Sixty-three people, including seven children, were released from the main jail and a correction centre in western Herat province on Tuesday, an official said.
Herat Prisons Director Brig. Gen. Shah Mir Amirpur said 50 men and six women were released based on a presidential decree issued on the occasion of Eidul Adha.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the individuals involved in abduction, drug smuggling and other serious crimes were not among the beneficiaries.
