KABUL): An Afghan drug dealer was reportedly killed during an exchange of fire with Tajik border guards on the joint border.
Tajikistan’s State Committee for National Security (SCNS) press center said there was crossfire between Tajik security officers and several Afghan drug traffickers, who illegally crossed the border river into the Hamadoni district in southern Khatlon province.
One of trespassers, Daud, son of Juma Khan, who was reportedly leader of that drug-trafficking group was killed while resisting detention.
Other members of the drug-trafficking group managed to return to Afghan territory. Two F-1 hand grenades and fifteen kilograms of narcotics were found on the spot, the source said.
