JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Nearly a dozen shops were gutted after a huge fire swept through a marketplace in the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, witnesses said on Friday.
The fire broke out last night around 9pm in the Najaran area of Jalalabad, witnesses said.
Bakhtiyar, whose shop was gutted in the fire, told Pajhwok Afghan News the fire was accidental and cased by an electrical short-circuit.
He said eleven shops were burnt in the blaze, which was brought under control before it could spread to several other nearby shops.
