KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) on Tuesday said it had received about 30 complaints against provincial council (PC) candidates in southern Kandahar.
IECC head for Kandahar Marvand Waziri said no complaint had been lodged so far against presidential aspirants. Some candidates had allegedly printed slogans of others on their own posters, he said.
Violators had been directed to rectify their posters, Waziri said, warning of stern actions if the practice continued. Some of runners have been accused of grabbing land and failing to pay money to printing press owners.
Waziri urged people to inform the commission if they found anyone breaking the election law. The IECC office in Kandahar was set up 18 days ago.
