KANDAHAR CITY (PAJHWOK): Of 244 polling stations in southern Kandahar province, 11 would remain closed on elections day, officials of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) said on Wednesday.
The decision came at a high-level meeting attended by Eng. Abdul Hadi Dawari, the IEC director, Col. Rehmatullah Atrafi, deputy police chief, and Col. Timor Shah, the ANA commander.
Dawari said the polling stations in three districts had been closed due to security concerns, people’s migration and low fewer voter cards issued to dwellers.
