JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Militants gunned down an official of the rural affairs department in the Chaparhar district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Wednesday.
The incident took late last night when the insurgents took Hazrat Wali out of his home and shot him to death in the Idiakhel area of Chaparhar, the district chief, Qazi Nazir, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Wali was repeatedly threatened by armed militants to quit his job or face death. Nazir said the victim had no personal enmity with anyone.
Also in the past, seven administrative members, a statistical and education officials and deputy district chief had been killed by militants.
