KABUL, on Monday announced plans to commence Kabul-Jeddah flights from June 9.
The inaugural flight will leave Kabul at 7pm and land at 10.30pm at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah. The return flight will depart Jeddah at 11.55pm local time and arrive the next day in Kabul at 6.20am.
The direct flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, a statement from the airlines said.
Director Commercial John Brayford commented: “The flights will be operated by Boeing 767 aircraft with a two-cabin configuration, business and economy class.”
The aircraft will offer 12 business class and 196 economy class seats, providing comfort and style with new catering services.
“In the coming months, we intend to announce operations to a couple of other destinations in the Gulf, which will give the traveling public from Afghanistan convenient connections at value for money pricing…”
Ali Vahedi Safi Airways country manager, said: “We are delighted that we have been able to meet our customers need in having a direct flight between Kabul and Jeddah for our community who travel round the year for pilgrimage to Makkah and Medina.”
