KABUL (Pajhwok): Twenty-nine insurgents have been killed, eight wounded and three others detained in joint operations during the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior claimed on Friday.
Afghan security forces carried out the operations in Kunar, Kunduz, Logar, Khost, Farah, Herat and Helmand provinces. The security forces recovered a huge amount of explosives and ammunition.
A statement from the ministry said the Afghan National Police (ANP) had defused roadside bombs planted by rebels in several parts of Kunar and Laghman provinces.
