KABUL Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) could monitor his government’s performance in terms of respect for human rights at the end of the year.
During a meeting with AIHRC members at his office, Ghani stressed the protection of women’s rights and promised the required investment in the justice sector, the Presidential Palace said.
AIHRC supported Ghani’s agenda, particularly his plans to promote women’s rights. The commissioners hoped women would be able to make it to senior positions in line with their abilities.
Ghani asked the commission members for suggestions for improving the human rights law and assess the government’s performance at the end of the year.
“We have plenty of work in the area of human rights. I promise fundamental investment in the justice sector,” he said, adding no one should doubt his pledges regarding protection of human rights.
