PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Six militants linked to the Jandullah network have been arrested and four others killed in northern Baghlan province, officials said on Friday.
A group of 10 Jundullah fighters, which was involved in fuelling insecurity in the province, had been dismantled by police in the Ali Gomaa village of Burka district, the police spokesman said.
Javed Baghlan told Pajhwok Afghan News that four of the terrorists were killed and six others injured before being detained.
Taliban commander in Kunduz and Takhar Qari Hussain and Qari Nazir, who was responsible for planting landmines, were among the dead, he said.
The spokesman added six seized weapons and ammunition were seized during the police operation.
In western Faryab province, five pro-government militiamen two Taliban were killed during a clash in Shirin Tagab district.
Samiullah, the district development council head, said four locals and a policeman were killed by fighters loyal to Taliban commander Mullah Nadir.
