KHOST CITY /KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Two civilians were killed and as many wounded on Wednesday when militants attacked a village in the Zazai Maidan district of southeastern Khost province.
The governor’s spokesman, Mubarez Zadran, told Pajhwok Afghan News the insurgents mounted an attack on civilians in the Khogi village of the district around noon.

The militants were enraged by locals’ cooperation with the security forces, he informed. Haji Shamsullah, a resident, said the insurgents had kidnapped one person.
The locals, he said, had taken up arms and started trading fire with the militants but he had no details about casualties.
