KABUL, MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Eight people were killed and two more wounded in two separate incidents of violence in capital Kabul and northern Faryab province, officials said Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Farid Afzali, head of Kabul police criminal department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on Wednesday evening in the 15th police district.
The sons of former Jihadi commanders, Gen. Din Mohammad Jurat and personal bodyguards of Haji Rahim traded heavy gun fire late on Wednesday. Nadim, the son of, Gen. Jurat was died and his second son wounded in the gun battle.
Afzali said a personal bodyguard of Haji Rahim was also wounded in the face-off. Gen. Jurat is a former Jamiat-i-Islami commander and held many positions in Afghan government. He is currently head of Panjsher people’s Council in Kabul.
Meanwhile, in another incident, seven persons had been killed following a fierce clash between two groups in Belcheragh district of northern Faryab province.
Mirwais Sadozai, the town’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that commander Ghafoor and commander Dadi had a feud long before which developed into an armed clash late Thursday. Three persons from Ghfoor side were killed and one from his rival group.
