KABUL Hiroshi Takashi on Monday said Tokyo would continue to cooperate with Kabul in various fields as a strong partner.
This he said during a meeting with Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah at the latter’s office in Kabul, a statement from the CEO’s office said.
Takashi said Japan was committed to continuously assisting Afghanistan in areas of economy, education, saying Japan regarded Afghanistan as a strong ally. He hoped political, social and trade relations between the two countries would further improve in future.
For his part, Abdullah said the unity government gave priority to maintaining good relations with its foreign allies and had so far taken a number of steps since the government was formed in September.
The CEO called as crucial Japan’s help to develop Afghanistan’s production sector and in this regard, he urged Tokyo to continue its current activities and initiate new ones.
