KABUL (Pajhwok): Thirty-three alleged criminals have been arrested and a landmine planted in the eighth police district of Kabul defused during the ongoing week, police said on Tuesday.
Firdos Faramarz, spokesperson for Kabul police, told Pajhwok Afghan News “A landmine was discovered in Bagh Kotai area.”
The explosive device was successfully defused before it went off, he said, alleging the landmine had been planted by the enemy who wanted to kill innocent people.
He said police had arrested 33 suspects in connection with different crimes during the ongoing week in different parts of Kabul.
He said the suspects were arrested during separate operations in first, fourth, fifth, seventh, 10th and 13th police districts, as well as Chaharasiab, Mir Bacha Kot and Sarobi districts.
Faramarz claimed the detainees were involved in robberies, murder, kidnappings, carrying illegal weapons, immoral activities, fraud, stealing and looting.
Two pistols, one Kalashnikov, two stolen vehicles had been recovered from the detainees, the police spokesman concluded.
