ISAF soldier succumbs to injury

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) soldier died as a result of a non-battle-related injury in southern Afghanistaninfo-icon on Friday, the alliance said.

The service-member’s death was announced in a brief statement from the NATOinfo-icon-led force that did not reveal the victim’s nationality.

Mostly, British, US and Canadian troops are stationed in the Talibaninfo-icon’s southern heartland, where an international soldier was killed in an improvised explosive device attack on Thursday.

With Friday’s fatality, the number of ISAF soldiers killed in Afghanistan so far during the current year has risen to 188, including 139 American military personnel.
