6 Daesh affiliates killed in Nangarhar artillery fire

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Six Daesh militants have been killed and two more wounded during an ongoing joint operation by Afghan security forces in the Pacheragam district of eastern Nangarhar province.

Nangarhar police spokesman Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News the Daesh affiliates suffered casualties as a result of artillery fire by the Afghan forces during the ongoing “Operation Shaheen 20.”

He said civilians remained unharmed during the operation. Mashriqiwal also said police had eradicated standing poppy crop on two acres of land in the Kot district.

Meanwhile, 64 border police cadets graduated from the first battalion’s training school and were distributed certificates.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, border police first battalion commander Col. Mohammad Ayub Hussainkhel urged the graduates to concentrate on their job and perform their duty of protecting the country’s borders with full faith and spirit.
