Presence of foreign forces big handicap for peace: Taliban

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Talibaninfo-icon have termed the presence of foreign troops in Afghanistaninfo-icon a huge hurdle for peace and stability and asked businessmen to invest in the country for welfare of the people of Afghanistan.

The Taliban Head Habatullah Akhunzada in his Eid-ul-Adha message said the people of Afghanistan should work hard for the rebuilding and development of Afghanistan and should not expect foreigners that they would rebuild the war-torn country.

He encouraged the business community to make investment in the country in order to prevent mass migrationinfo-icon of Afghanis to other countries.

The Taliban head said the groups would put in place all its abilities to support businessmen and would support all other efforts that could ensure the protection and safety of traders and investors.

He said the Taliban wanted an independent, free and developed Afghanistan.

Habatullah said he tasked a special commission to ensure the protection of highways bridges, dams, educational institutes, healthinfo-icon centres, factories and other infrastructure projects.

He, however, did not give detail about the commission.

He directed his followers to support and protect individuals or groups that work for the development and prosperity of the common people.

He added the Taliban have no intention to take revenge from anyone, the groups was never biased and would never strive for the control of power.

“An inclusive and nation-wide government system is the one in which all groups of the societyinfo-icon can see their representation,” the Taliban head believed.

He termed the presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan a huge hurdle in the way of peace and said ending the conflict through dialogue was an important part of their struggle and for this purpose the Taliban tasked its political office to work on peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict.
