Flash flood plays havoc in Kabul’s Khak-i-Jabar

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Inflicting heavy financial losses on people, flash flood killed people and injured two others on Wednesday following heavy rains in Khak-i-Jabar district of central Kabul province, an official said.

The district administrative chief, Qazi Sulaiman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the early morning flooding triggered by continuous downpour played havoc with people’s lives, homes and crops in Siwak, Chalab, Talokhel, Abdullahkhel and Zindan villages.

At least two persons were killed and as many injured in the flooding that destroyed two sub routes, crops on around 1,150 acres of land, three streams and killed more than 100 animals and damaged people houses.

He urged the government and non-governmental organizations to assist the affected families in

Khak-i-Jabar district, around 35 kilometers southeast of Kabul City.
