KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Harakat-i-Inqilab Islami party on Thursday praised the activities of several media outlets including Pajhwok Afghan News and urged them to avoid publishing ‘negative’ reports regarding the peace process.

The party leader presented awards to Pajhwok, Shamshad Radio Television, Kabul News, Zhwandon TV, Iriana News, Khurshid TV, Voice of America and Azadi Radio.

Maulviinfo-icon Qalamuddin, the Harakat party leader, said Muslim journalists had an important Islamic task of ‘Amr bil Maroof wa Nahi 'anil Munkar’ (Enjoining good and forbidding bad), and they should pay serious attention to their duty.

Qalamuddin praised Pajhwok news agency as “very reliable” on national and international levels.

Referring to the peace process, he said Afghanistaninfo-icon was currently passing through a delicate situation, in which the media should not publish negative reports regarding the peace efforts. He emphasized the Afghans should support the Afghan-owned peace process.

Without naming anyone, Qalamuddin grumbled some foreigners did not want peace in Afghanistan and instead want to divide the country and create differences between tribes.
