KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghan government has promised respect In a for the established procedures in the 1988 committee’s guidelines concerning travel ban exemptions for individuals on the consolidated list.

 “We have noted the visit of a senior delegation of the Talibaninfo-icon to Moscow on February 5 to take part in a peace meeting there,” Afghanistaninfo-icon’s permanent representative to the UN said.

In a statement, Mahmood Saikal referred to the established procedures contained in the 1988 committee’s guidelines concerning travel ban exemptions for individuals listed in the consolidated list.

The guidelines include exemption requests from state(s) of destination, state(s) of transit and state of residence and the committee’s subsequent approval.

The Permanent Mission of Afghanistan renewed to the Analytical support and Sanctions Monitoring Team of the Security Council’s ISIL (Daesh) and Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee and the 1988 Committee the assurance of its highest consideration.

The statement hailed all international efforts in support of the Afghan-led and peace process, including activities of the UN sanctions committee and its monitoring team.
