Mar 30, 2019 - 14:56

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): At least four children were killed and another 17 injured when a mortar shell hit a school in the Andar district of southern Ghazni province on Saturday, an official said.

Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the mortar struck Nuh Baba School at around 10am.

Four children were killed and 17 others, including two teachers, were wounded in the incident, he said.

However, he said it remained unclear who fired the shell because there was a clash between Talibaninfo-icon and security forces.

The incident comes a day after 16 police, including a checkpoint commander, were killed in a Taliban attack in the capital of Ghazni province.
