No link between Kashmir, Afghan peace: Pakistan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon’s Ambassador to Afghanistaninfo-icon Zahid Nasrullah Khan on Thursday said the Afghan peace process had nothing to do with the Kashmir dispute and termed the remarks of some Pakistani politicians in this regard as their personal views.

Addressing reporters here, the Pakistani ambassador said Kashmir was a historic dispute between Pakistan and Indian and several UNSC resolutions existed on the issue.

He said the Kashmir dispute had its own importance and was not linked to the Afghan peace process.

He claimed India put security of the entire region at stake by its illegal actions in the disputed territory.

Nasrullah Khan said Pakistan had rejected and condemned India’s unilateral legislative efforts to change the constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Regarding Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s trip to Kabul, the Pakistani envoy said they had no information in this regard so far.

Regarding the claims of some Pakistani politicians who link the issue of Kashmir with the Afghan peace process, he said it was their personal views.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan played his role in Afghan reconciliation process and was ready to do everything he could for Afghan peace.
