Gul was abducted on his way home, said Dr. Nizamuddin, an IMC official, who urged the captors to free the driver.

IMC was founded after the Soviet invasion in 1979 when all but 200 of Afghanistaninfo-icon's 1,500 doctors had been executed, imprisoned or exiled, and all relief agencies ordered out of the impoverished country.
