Police recover weapon depot in Badghis

Mar 05, 2011 - 15:37

QALA-I-NAW (PANinfo-icon): Afghan police have discovered a Talibaninfo-icon's weapons depot in Qadis district of northwestern Badghis province, an official said on Saturday.

The dump found in Lunger area on Friday night included one rocket-propelled grenade launcher with 10 rockets and two anti-vehicle mines, Badghis police chief, Col. Abdul Jabbar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The insurgents intended to use the weapons for attacks on security checkpoints in the district, he said. The ammunitions were shifted to the district centre by police, he added.
