Two NATO-led soldiers killed in south

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Two foreign soldiers have been killed in the Talibaninfo-icon heartland of southern Afghanistaninfo-icon, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) said on Saturday.

One servicemember was killed during an improvised explosive device attack and a second succumbed to a non-battle related injury, the NATOinfo-icon-led force said in separate statements.

Although the ISAF statements neither revealed identities of the soldiers nor the location of the bomb attack, most of the troops stationed in the south are American.

More than 700 foreign soldiers were killed in Afghanistan last year, the deadliest for the NATO-led troops, as well as civilians. Over 500 international troops were killed in 2009. In January, 31 NATO-led troops were killed.
