ISAF detains local policemen in Zabul

QALAT (PAN) soldiers arrested two local policemen during an operation in southern Zabul province, an official said on Tuesday.

The operation was conducted in Chino area of Shah Joy district late on Monday night when foreign forces raided the residence of a man named Mohammad Qasim. He was arrested along with his son, the district chief said.

The detainees were members of a local police force, Abdul Qayum told Pajhwok Afghan News. Qasim’s son was a former militant, who recently joined the peace process and started working for the local police.

ISAF’s Joint Command office in Kabul member, who was involved in planting roadside bombs on the Zabul-Ghazni highway.
