ISLAMABAD (PAN on Saturday (April 16), officials said on Wednesday.
Gilani would hold wide-ranging talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, a spokesman for the Prime Minister’s House, Zafaryab Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
During a trip to Islamabad this year, Afghanistan chief Burhanuddin Rabbani delivered Karzai’s invitation to the Pakistani leader to visit Kabul.
Foreign office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua also confirmed the visit, saying the Awami National Party president, Asfandyar Wali Khan, and former interior minister, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, would accompany the prime minister.
She said the two sides would hold talks on regional issues, counterterrorism measures, transit trade, investment and infrastructure development.
Gilani visited Afghanistan four months ago and exchanged views with his hosts on ways to boost the Afghan reconciliation process, which has the backing of the international community.
