TALOQAN (PAN): The foundation stone of a German-funded auditorium was laid in Taloqan, the capital of northern Takhar province, on Tuesday.
A $1 million project (45.86 million afghanis), the auditorium will have 36 rooms, 16 bathrooms and a hall that will accommodate 2,000 people.
Governor Abdul Jabbar Taqwa told Pajhwok Afghan News presently there was only one conference hall in the Taloqan Municipality, with the capacity to house 200 individuals.
All government departments would be able to hold gatherings in the auditorium, which would be completed in a year, the governor said.
