4 insurgents detained in Wardak

MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN fighters, including a commander, in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Wednesday.

The arrests were made in the Shaniz area of Syedabad district late on Tuesday, the district chief, Fazal Karim, told Pajhwok Afghan News. Some weapons were also recovered from the insurgents, he said.

In a statement, the NATO-led confirmed the arrests, saying the detained militants were involved in a roadside bombing. The Taliban have not made any comment on the operation so far.
