MAIDAN SHAHR (PANinfo-icon): A Talibaninfo-icon commander has been arrested along with four fighters in the central province of Maidan Wardak, an official said on Wednesday.

Adam Khan was detained during an operation by the NATOinfo-icon-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) in Syedabad district late on Tuesday night, the district chief said.

Afghan soldiers were not part of the operation, which also led to the recovery of some weapons from the insurgents, Fazal Karim Muslim told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Meanwhile, ISAF confirmed the arrest of some militants in the district. The Taliban have not yet commented on the arrests.
