KABUL): Ten criminals were captured in Kabul on charges of murder, kidnapping and weapons smuggling, officials said on Thursday.
The suspects were detained over the past one week in different parts of the capital city, Kabul police chief, Lt. Gen. Mohammad Ayub Salangi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Four suspects in an armed robbery were detained with three Kalashnikov assault rifles in the 11th police district on Wednesday, he said. Three others were held on kidnap charges, Salangi said.
Another two were arrested on murder charges in the fourth police district. Seventy-seven Kalashnikovs, nine machineguns and 10,000 bullets were recovered from a car and a suspect arrested, according to Salangi.
Police also found a weapons dump, including four mortar shells, three RPG launchers, two mortars, a pistol and five antipersonnel mines, in Deh Sabz district on Thursday.
