Elsewhere in the country, three Haqqani network leaders and several other insurgents were killed in the Nadir Shah Kot district of southeastern Khost province. A senior rebel leader for the district, Saleh Khan, was among the dead.

“He directed explosive-device attacks, logistics and communications for Haqqani insurgents operating in the area. Over the last week, he led 20 fighters in two separate attacks on coalition forward operating bases.”
