TIRINKOT (PAN): Three civilians were killed and a fourth wounded in separate incidents of violence in central province of Uruzgan, an official said on Thursday.
A man was shot dead in the Najaran area on the outskirts of the provincial capital, Tirinkot, on Wednesday evening, the provincial police chief said.
Fazal Ahmad Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News a man was arrested with two shotguns on suspicion of involvement in the murder. The detainee is in custody for investigation.
Lal Mohammad, the victim, ran a shop of liquefied gas in Tirinkot, witness Amanullah said. Two motorcyclists shot him dead and fled the scene, he added.
Another two people were killed in the Mian Rodi area of the capital, the police chief said, linking the incident to personal enmity. A suspect arrested in this regard is under investigation.
A wounded man was also brought to Tirinkot Civil Hospital, said Dr. Khan Mohammad. Since the man was in critical condition, he was referred to an ISAF facility in the province.
