KABUL): The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development had allocated $100 million (4.539 billion afghanis) for the implementation of development projects during the ongoing year, the minister said on Sunday.

The amount had been specified for the construction of roads, bridges, water supply systems, electricity and other infrastructure development projects, Rural Rehabilitation and Development Minister, Jarullah Mansuri, told Pajhwok Afghan News at the end of a two-day national conference participated by district council heads in Kabul.

Over the past eight years, he said, $126 million had been spent on projects in districts. The minister said this year’s budget for the same would be high compared to the previous years.

Mansuri also said public representatives at the conference floated their suggestions and called for the continuation of infrastructure development projects in districts.
