WASHINGTON (PAN.
“Mullah Omar, who took over after the Russians left, was driven out during our invasion. We believe he’s in Pakistan. I would like to capture Omar or kill him because he’s the man who invited bin Laden as his guest,” Senator Lindsay Graham said.
He told the Fox News in an interview on Monday the reclusive Taliban supreme leader needed to be brought to justice and the Pakistanis needed to help the US.
At a news conference, Senator Joe Lieberman said the killing of Osama bin Laden gave the US an increased momentum in the war in Afghanistan.
“And if I were a leader of the Taliban, I’d be frightened right now because of the capacity that the US intelligence, military, particularly Special Operations Command, showed leading up to and then on the mission yesterday,” Lieberman said.
