KHOSTCITY(PAN): A civilian was killed and eight others were injured when a homemade bomb, concealed in a box, went off in southeastern Khost province on Thursday, officials said.
The explosion took place at 7:30am on a road in front of provincial municipality department in Khost City, police official, Abdul Mutallib, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said civilians were injured in the blast, but a doctor on duty in Khost civil hospital, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed receiving nine injured people at the hospital. One of the injured succumbed to his injuries and a second person was in a critical condition, he said.
There was no claim of responsibility.
